Prior to her recently joining Tool of North America, Julia had been with Future of StoryTelling since its inception, helping to launch the inaugural NY-based summit in 2012 for 500 high profile guests across media, marketing, technology and entertainment sectors. Over the years, she has been integral to FoST's success in its development from a small startup to an exclusive and oversubscribed thought leadership event with an online presence of over half a million followers and over three million views of original video content. Over the years, Julia has played many roles at FoST, specializing in program curation, business development, partnership activation, line production, experience design, and exhibition management. She has been responsible for editorial content across all official brand channels, including website, social media, newsletter, public communications, and press releases. In a fundraising capacity, she has helped raise over $2.3 million through the development of strategic partnerships with companies like Adobe, American Express, Deloitte, Ford Motor Company, General Electric, Google, Microsoft, and Time Warner. She has led the charge on launching new initiatives within the organization, such as the internationally traveling exhibition, "Sensory Stories", visited by 40,000 museumgoers; the $10,000 FoST Prize for innovation in storytelling; the FoST for Good social impact network; and the FoST Fellowship awarded to talented up-and-coming creatives. Julia is a self-professed VR evangelist and techno-file, and has participated in the development of the field working as a consultant and advisor to VR and tech startups. She produced "A Closer Look," VR salon with leadership from Oculus Story Studios, Tribeca Film Festival, and Sundance New Frontier. She has been invited to share her ideas about media and technology as a speaker on panels at the New Museum in NY, the International Center for Photography, SXSW, and the FMX Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Transmedia. With access to a powerful network of connections across the tech, media, business, agency, and academic sectors, Julia is positioned to be a creative and influential thought leader in the field of emerging technologies. She serves on the steering committee for GirlBeHeard.org, a non-profit theatre company that brings global issues affecting girls to center stage by empowering young women to tell their stories. In her free time, she's an enthusiast for solo pilgrimage expeditions, a Texas Hold 'Em poker shark having grown up in Nevada, and a spirited ukulele player.
