    Audience Level: All

Redirected walking is a perceptual illusion that tackles the challenge of exploring large virtual environments within a small tracked space. This talk will take a comprehensive look at both what this approach is in theory and how it is deployed in practice. The session will also introduce the Redirected Walking Toolkit: an open-source collection of scientifically proven redirection techniques designed to be deployed with minimal development overhead.

    Takeaway

The audience will catch a glimpse of how redirection works under the hood, gain insight on practical matters including how much space is required, and lastly become informed of resources available to begin integrating redirected walking in existing projects.

    Intended Audience

Anyone who has experienced using a commodity headset like the Rift or the Vive and understands the frustration of limited tracked spaces; especially VR developers who want to create experiences that explore large virtual environments.
