With VRDC Fall 2017 Session Scheduler, you can build your schedule in advance and access it during the show via export or with the Mobile App. Sessions do fill up, so please arrive early to sessions that you would like to attend. Adding a session to your schedule does not guarantee you a seat.

One way to make the VR industry more diverse is by incorporating feedback from under-represented groups. Researcher and Behavioral Scientist, Jessica Outlaw, recruited 20 women (all first-timers to VR) to use different social VR platforms. Using observation, and pre- and post-interview questions, she will report on the findings of this round of user testing. This session will discuss how the participant's expectations about VR influenced their experience, how they approached social interactions, and their perceptions about the potential of the technology. Come learn the specific findings from this study, and get tips on running your own research in the future.
Attendees will learn what does and does not make a social VR environment inclusive to women. They'll also hear the perspective of diverse people trying out social VR for the first time, and will get tips on running user testing inside of their own VR creation.
VR creators who are interested in optimizing social interactions. People interested in the perspective of women's first-time experiences in VR, what their obstacles are (technically and otherwise) and what makes a VR experience welcoming and engaging over time. Also, people interested in learning tips for user testing in VR.
Welcome! You can use the Session Scheduler tool to browse sessions and build a custom event schedule. Once you've saved your personal schedule, you can access it from the free VRDC Fall 2017 Mobile app (available approximately 30 days before the event). Note: use the same login/password on the Mobile app that you set up on this web site.
Step 1. Create an account. Use the "Create Account" button at the top of the right-hand corner.
Step 2. Choose a view. Select either the "List" or the "Grid" icon. (It's the same data, just a different view of the sessions.)
Step 3. Choose your sessions. Click the "Add" or "Remove" button next to each session to add it to, or remove it from, your personalized schedule.
Step 4. Review your schedule. Push the "My Schedule" button in the left column to view your selected sessions.
